Fuller Lips: Making Sense of Lip Augmentation

Lip Augmentation in Walnut Creek With Fillers

Thin, wrinkled, or asymmetrical lips can be a lifelong concern (thanks, Mom!) or simply a normal effect of aging. But whatever the cause, if your lips aren’t as full as you’d like, there’s now a well-established way to add some volume.

Lip augmentation is a relatively straightforward method for perfecting the size and shape of lips — in that it’s always achieved by an injection treatment — but beyond that common ground, there are a lot of options. Let’s take a look at the lip injections available to Walnut Creek, Danville, and other area patients here at Essential Aesthetics.

Why I Rely on Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers

In my practice, I prefer to use injectable fillers to augment the lips rather than other methods, such as collagen injections or implants. Gel-based injectables give me much more control during injections, allowing me to add precise volume and shape where my patients want it most. My favorite fillers for lip augmentation, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA®, are incredibly smooth and soft. They leave behind lips that feel quite natural, with an even result that has no lumps or hardness.

JUVÉDERM products are popular among my San Ramon-area patients because they’re pre-formulated with lidocaine. The addition of this popular and safe anesthetic makes injections incredibly comfortable. Most patients liken it to a quick pinch.

The Treatment Session

You’ll be in and out of the office in just a few minutes, with essentially instant results that you can enjoy for months. That makes it accessible and easy, whether you’re young and you’ve inherited naturally thin lips or you’re a bit older and are experiencing newly diminished volume. Either way, I think you’ll be pleased when you see your beautiful results.
