B12 Injections

The human body needs B-12 to function at its peak, but many people are deficient in this important vitamin. In the short term, a vitamin B-12 deficit can lead to bothersome, but vague symptoms such as mental “fogginess,” muscle weakness, and mood fluctuations. A long-term deficiency can cause more serious symptoms. Vitamin B-12 shots are available to Oakland, Walnut Creek, Danville, and other East Bay residents here at Essential Aesthetics.

See just how good you can feel with the power of vitamin B-12. Request a consultation online, or call Essential Aesthetics at (925) 855-1773.

What is Vitamin B-12?

B-12 is a water-soluble vitamin, which means that the body doesn’t store it in fat or other tissues. Vitamin B-12 must be regularly consumed in order to maintain the body’s supply. It’s found in abundance in meat, seafood, and dairy products, but certain individuals — especially vegetarians, vegans, and those with certain medical conditions — don’t routinely get enough from food. Many older people also have trouble absorbing it even when they eat a balanced diet.

Injection is the preferred delivery method when dietary absorption is a problem, because it administers the vitamin directly to the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. At Essential Aesthetics, we commonly offer vitamin B-12 shots to patients experiencing symptoms of a deficiency, such as fatigue, trouble concentrating, or poor cognitive functioning.
